Default SSI use for newbee-can't get it right.

I purchased SitePoint's "Sandards Compliant Website Using Dreamweaver
8" and downloaded Apache. Apache/2.0.55 (Win32) Server at localhost
Port 80. Window XP is my OS. All loaded and tested great. However,
when I went by the directions in the book, I could not get the SSI test
to work. (No "hello world" message.) Also, could not find "AddModule
mod_include.c" to uncomment, as author said to do on page 35. When I
wrote it in, I get an error message, so I took it back out.

Newbee question number 1: Did I save the text for the test in the wrong
place on my computer? Does it matter where I save it? Where should I
save it? The author did not say where to save it.

Newbee question number 1.0.55.abc: Where do I write the scripts for
the server? In what directory? I want to write in My Documents for an
easier save/backup. Is that not okay?
