I tried everything u guys said but...

still i can't browse to localhost

i have win xp SP1
no services installed
kaspersky anti virus installed(which i disabled while working with
apache)

i install apache
to work with php and sql .. seems easy
icon is there in systray green arrowed and all
but when i go to localhost or 127.0.0.1 it dosent work
i tried changing the port in conf files and restarted apache still
....nada

it gave me a few errors
all of which were mentioned in this group
previously....

errors like "cant find file:no apache2 service exists"
to" could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:8000 no listening sockets
available shutting down unable to open logs"

i tried changing ports
exiting all antivirus
checked all services i had (iis etc)
i just cant browse to localhost

yes theres a index.html file there
no typose are there

still ??

any help wld be really appreciated
as i am so frustrated with this
