Default IIS 6 seems faster then Apache 2

When I was running IIS6, I tested the speed throughput and it was like
11.2 MB/sec down. When using Apache 2 the speed throughput is less then
400KB/sec down. How do I fix apache, so that I can get the same rates
as IIS6?
