Default Unable to add hard disk after software raid

After creating a software raid using 2 80G hard drives on the IDE 0, 1 on
the motherboard, I find it impossible to add more hard disk through the
PCI-based ATA adaptors, which worked fine before.

Do I have to install all the hard disk before setting up software raid
(striped volumes)? THX!

Wrong news group. This news group is for web servers (apache & IIS).

comp.hardware might be a better place to ask.
