Frontpage on Apache help please :)

Hi all, new to group :) Wondering if anyone here can help me set
up "front page" extensions abilities with my apache 2.0.5.3. I use
front page to make things easy, then tweak with html :) Lazy, I
know... anyway, I wanted to use a counter and database on my site,
but it says (even though I save it to the "document root directory")
that certain functions cannot be used unless it is published to the
web first (the counter right now)...(crystalspages.net - OLD site
hosted, currently changing ALL of it - just concerned with first
page right now LOL) How on earth do I enable front page with my
apache server so that I can make the darned thing "publish" so I can
use my counter? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
