Apache 2.0.50 under WinXP Home

I am able to get Apache 2.0.50 working under WinXP Pro on a "network
domain".
I can't seem to be able to get it working under WinXP Home working on
a network "workgroup" not "domain".
During installation of Apache on WinXP Pro (working on a domain at
work), it sees settings for Domain and Server Name. The text boxes are
filled in automatically. And those settings work.
During installation of Apache on WinXP Home (working on a workgroup at
home), it doesn't see the settings and when I enter them in and run
server, it doesn't work. The service starts but you can see that the
hard disk light on pc is flashing at high speed until I stop service.
While server service is running I can't see web server site in
internet explorer "http://kevin/" or "http://127.0.0.1/"
I have also checked what software is using port 80 and 8080 and only
apache is using it.

My workgroup is called - HOME
My machine name (not description) - kevin

The settings in apache I have tried are (list):

Domain Network - HOME, kevin, kevin.HOME
Server Name - kevin, kevin.HOME

Someone please help as I'm getting a little frustrated.
