Default Win XP, Apache, and PHP

I am installing Apache 1-3-31 and PHP 4-3-8 on a Windows XP box. I am
able to install Apache, but it does not see PHP. When I view a PHP
document through IE, all I see is the HTML code. (I can see the PHP
source in View Source). I've tried several different flavors of
configuring httpd.conf and php.ini, but nothing seems to work.
