how much is a compaq proliant 6500 worth???

I've got the chance to buy a proliant 6500 4(PIII Xeons 500Mhz 2MB cache),
1MB ram, 9(9.1GB U2W 10k rpm hot-swappable drives) raid card and 2 quad nics
and the insight board

Just wondering what's its worth, I've looked on the net but haven't seen
anything close to this config???? I did see the original invoice, $38,000,
wow how pc's sure lose value, its not even 4 years old!!!

I don't know... but I have seen similar Quad P3 w/ a 3-disk SCSI RAID array
for ~$500 in eBay.

BTW-> Just in case you were planning to use it for SBS2k3... be aware that
it doesn't support 4 processors.

500MHz PIIIs are near valueless.

Older slower and near life's end and not worth much.

Are they in a separate RAID box? A RAID box might be worth something.

If I understood correctly, it's a multi-processor system with four
PIII chips -- better than one!
