Default problem changing the server DIRECTORY

it works fine when set on the standard directory, but when I put for example
c:/mysite" it doesn't work anymore, the apache can't start, can anyone help
me?

What error messages are in the error log and in the Windows System and
Application Event logs?

the error log is unchanged, but the monitor tells me "the requested
operation has failed!"

i really don't know where to look for
Windows System and
Application Event logs?

You should always mention what OS you're using. I]ll assume you're
using Windows 2000 or XP. Look in Control Panel | Administrative
Tools | Event Viewer.
