Hello all,
I have been hosting my own web site for approx a year now. I am running the site on a Windows XP Pro machine / IIS / MySql / PHP-Nuke I have heard so much about Apache. So I decided to set up a test web site on an IBM server pc that I have kicking around. P-III 933mhz Dual processor xseries 220 This is what I am using: Windows 2000 Advanced Server Apache 2.0 MySql 4.x PHP-Nuke 7.x I managed to get the test site up and running, and for the time being, accessing the site locally eg. http://localhost/index.php or http://192.168.123.x/index.php What I can't seem to figure out, is why it takes 7-8 seconds before the main page is served up. Actually, it takes equally as long for every other page to be served up as well. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Peter |
