Default Apache 2.0.48 with Window 2000 problem

I have a windows 2000 machine with McAffee firewall. It will run apache
1.3.29 fine.

I have install Apache 2.0.48 with no-ssl on this machine and it does not
work. The best description is that Apache just hangs after starting. I know
it is trying to access the net because McAffee tells me that.

When I try to access in via the IE the little global just turns and turns
and turns...................

Apache Error log
[Sat Feb 21 12:00:06 2004] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1420
[Sat Feb 21 12:00:06 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Child process is running
[Sat Feb 21 12:00:06 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Acquired the start mutex.
[Sat Feb 21 12:00:06 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Starting 250 worker threads.
[Sat Feb 21 12:01:58 2004] [notice] Parent: Received shutdown signal --
Shutting down the server.
[Sat Feb 21 12:01:58 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Exit event signaled. Child
process is ending.
[Sat Feb 21 12:01:59 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Released the start mutex
[Sat Feb 21 12:02:00 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Waiting for 250 worker
threads to exit.
[Sat Feb 21 12:02:00 2004] [notice] Child 1420: All worker threads have
exited.
[Sat Feb 21 12:02:00 2004] [notice] Child 1420: Child process is exiting
[Sat Feb 21 12:02:00 2004] [notice] Parent: Child process exited
successfully.

The access log is empty.

I have tried to use the debug on but I get not information. In the console
window I do not see the Apache started message as I do in Apache 1.3.29

I am beginning to believe this does not work with Windows 2000. Any ideas.

Default Re: Apache 2.0.48 with Window 2000 problem

The problem is not with Windows 2000 but with McAfee. *Many* users have
reported this problem. If you uninstall McAfee, it will work just fine.
Note that I do not recommend this corse of action, I just wanted to point
you in the right direction.
