I really need a hand here. I have been running Visnetic Website for a
while, but it has been a real pain keeping it running and nobody can give much advice. I decided to switch to Apache. Its said to be the most popular, so who am I to think it's not the best option. But I just can not figure out how to set it up properly. The people writing the documentation really need to have a think about writing manuals that dont really say anything. Anyhow, thats a different thread. I'm on a WinXP Pro box, and whilst trying to figure out how to set up SSL, stumbled across the following link. http://hunter.campbus.com/ This is the ONLY place I have found with any kind of binary download for the SSL components. However, and this is the problem, I have no idea how to make it work. What I am trying to make work is the Apache_1.3.29-Mod_SSL_2.8.16-Openssl_0.9.7c-Win32.zip download. I have a DSL connection through a router, so I have one external IP address, and of course my host machine has one internal IP. So if my domain name was, say www.mysite.com, and I also wanted to show a different set of pages if the user went to my external IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx), plus I also had a secure site behind secure.mysite.com ... how would I set the virtual hosts to allow this? And how do I make the SSL components work? I have an existing certificate which I can re-issue, but I need to make a CSR, etc. Any help would be really great. Thanks |

Thanks for the link, but as an Australian, I cant download anything
from that site. I had found that site previously, but without access to any binaries for the mentioned software, and without any setup instructions for the use of self-compiled modules, I'm still stuck. The site I mentioned above appears to have all the files I need in tha package, I just need to know how to configure it to work. Any help would be great. Thanks. |
