Hi guys,
I am new to this group and I hope I am in the right one for the couple of questions to have. Question 1 I will be getting a ADSL 3 mps connection installed at my home-based office. I run windows 2000 Server. I know how to setup and maintain the IIS server. I would also like to connect and setup a mail server on the same machine? I would like the ability to send and receive mail from the same IP number as the IIS service. can this be done? Question 2 I have 2 domain address I will be hosting me self. I would like to know how to have both www address come in on port 80 on the same server and the same ip number. ex: 123.456.789.0:80 listens for incoming requests for www.abc.com and www.def.com but these are 2 deferent websites and can not be linked together. I am in need of this information ASAP because I will be needing to hand in the information to the ADSL supplier to finish the order. Thanking you in advance for your help in these matters Michael Holmes |

It should be no problem. IIS for Windows 2000 comes with "mail and news" servers (SMTP and NNTP), so you can configure your mail server right out of the box. (If you had some other mail server in mind, then you'll likely have to shut off or disable the IIS one). > Question 2 > I have 2 domain address I will be hosting me self. As long as you're running the Server version of W2K as you say, you'll be okay. IIS allows multiple "sites" to be defined and distinguished by the DNS name. (The Pro version only allows one site). > > Thanking you in advance for your help in these matters No problem.
