My comment to all port maintainers, if my opinion as the mainstream author =
is=20
somehow relevant:

I don't recommend implementing any changes that break mainstream=20
compatibility. GNU/GPL allows you to do it, but it's definitely a bad idea=
,=20
as mainstream compatibility is a serious benefit to developers and=20
administrators having to support various platforms. In the worst case some=
=20
creative port maintainers have created their own forks of mainstream=20
applications and need to support those forks by themselves.
