Squid, Samba and renaming an Active Directory domain

Hi all
I am looking at renaming my active directory domain
As squid currently uses samba to authenticate users based on group
membership I was wondering if the only thing I need to do is modify
the SMB.CONF file to reflect the domain name
Can anyone confirm if this is all that is required to allow squid to
see the new domain name?
