Here is the error message I get in the browser.
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.priceline.com/=20 The following error was encountered:=20 Connection Failed=20 The system returned:=20 (111) Connection refused The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.=20 Your cache administrator is it@uwcaw.uwc.org.=20 Generated Fri, 12 Sep 2003 20:31:17 GMT by squid.ahuwc.local (squid/2.5.STABLE2) -----Original Message----- From: Henrik Nordstrom [mailto:hno@squid-cache.org]=20 Sent: Friday, September 12, 2003 2:08 PM To: Bert Beaudin; squid-users@squid-cache.org Subject: Re: [squid-users] Trouble getting to www.priceline.com On Friday 12 September 2003 21.10, Bert Beaudin wrote: > Hello all > I'm running squid-2.5.STABLE2 with transparent proxy running and=20 > all is good. Anything in cache.log? What error is given to the user? and no, by error I do not mean the=20 generic say-nothing-but-bullshit Internet Explorer error message, I=20 mean the real error message which says Squid at the bottom. If you=20 get the IE error message reconfigure your brovser to show the real=20 error messages before you attempt to ever use that browser again or=20 you risk getting totally brainwashed and dumbfounded from your=20 application/os provider threating you as a child who might be scared=20 by the real facts on what it going on. Have you read the Squid FAQ, especially the section relating to the OS=20 you are using? If your proxy is running on Linux-2.4 then it is very=20 likely the answer is found there.
