Default [Snort-users] Question about inline mode.

We are actually a Sourcefire customer, but they are not being quite as
helpful as I would like regarding this issue.

My question is:

When we use a snort sensor inline (IPS mode) and push out a policy update,
it restarts the snort executable.

The problem is that this also brings down the NIC since it goes to the
boot-up scripts to start snort.

Has anyone tried to modify the scripts so that restating snort does not
also restart the NIC?

Thanks,

Peter
