log_acid_db will do just that - log to the acid db. If you're running
base, that should work fine, because base has the same schema. If it's not inserting anything into the db, then you need to check some things to see what the problem is. Start barnyard with the -v switch to get more verbose logging and then look at /var/log/messages to see what's happening when you try to start barnyard. You may have a syntax problem or a login problem. You'll just have to figure out where the problem is. --On Monday, August 15, 2005 11:01:24 -0400 Min Qiu <mqiu@pop2pop.com> wrote: > Jeff, > > Thank you, ... therefore, barnyard works with BASE in theory. > The barnyard I downloaded (v0.2.0) has "output log_acid_db..." > option, though I failed to have it insert anything into the > db. > > Min > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: Jeff Kell [mailto:jeff-kell@utc.edu] >> Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 10:49 AM >> To: Min Qiu >> Subject: Re: [Snort-users] Quick Barnyard question... >> >> Min Qiu wrote: >> > Hi all, >> > >> > A related question, is BASE db compatible with ASID db at all? >> >> Same database, BASE adds a few tables. >> >> Jeff > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO > September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle > Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * > Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * > http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ > Snort-users mailing list > Snort-users@lists.sourceforge.net > Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/...fo/snort-users > Snort-users list archive: > http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.p...st=snort-users Paul Schmehl (pauls@utdallas.edu) Adjunct Information Security Officer University of Texas at Dallas AVIEN Founding Member http://www.utdallas.edu/ir/security/ ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users@lists.sourceforge.net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/...fo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.p...st=snort-users |
