[Snort-announce] March Meeting of the North Texas Snort Users Group

We will be speaking on the subject of Protecting your Assets. Some of the
basics to network design, IDS deployment, and some of the tools to use. We
will have several vulnerable virtual machines running on laptops, and will
demonstrate how to use tools to enumerate, map, and exploit the systems. We
invite everyone attending to bring a system of their own with what ever
tools you have at your disposal and we can have a round of capture the flag.
This will not be quite as good or as long as at Defcon, but will still be a
great source of entertainment and learning.

NOTE: The capture the flag is just for fun, please do not take it too
seriously. The machines they will have up for demo's are wide open default
installs of various operating systems, both MS and Linux. They will give you
the IP's of the systems when we start that segment and they ask that we all
respect each other. They will provide a hub so we can run a snort sensor and
watch the fun via BASE.

We would also like you to know that they we will have some special swag to
give away, as well as some CD's with some good stuff on it. This "stuff"
will include all of the exploits from Packetstorm for the last 4 years,
tools, programs, scripts, and a bunch of other "stuff".
