The two thing to check are: a) whether the agent is actually reading this config file, and b) whether it is receiving the request Try starting the agent using snmpd -f -Le -Dread-config -d It should generate some debugging output relating to the config file. Can you see the expected content? If not, check the location(s) that it's reading from. If that looks correct, then try issuing the snmpget command Do you see a raw packet dump of the incoming request? If not, then there may be some firewall-style filtering going on (e.g. iptables or similar).
