This one seems to work. It returns IP-MIB::ipForwarding.0 = INTEGER:
notForwarding(2)

and

snmpget -v 1 -c public localhost ipForwarding.0 also works (but not the
object ipForwarding. I also walked further to get some other objects such
as ipDefaultTTL.0, ipInReceives.0... It seems they have a sub-identifier
'.0' for each of the objects)

It returns that it can not find configuration settings from some default
directories and it reads information from the following directories
/usr/local/share/snmp/snmpd.conf
/var/net-snmp
and so on...
