Hi,

Hope this question didnt fell in cracks. Is there any configurable way we can suppress the linkUp traps generated at this time? Any pointers is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,

With 5.4 version, it is observed that linkUp traps are also generated when a HUP signal is sent to snmpd while reconfiguring. Is this the expected behavior? If not how to suppress these linkup traps. The config used is as below.

Thanks,

createUser _myinternal MD5 "my internal passwd"
agentSecName _myinternal
rouser _myinternal
notificationEvent linkUpTrap linkUp ifIndex ifAdminStatus ifOperStatus
notificationEvent linkDownTrap linkDown ifIndex ifAdminStatus ifOperStatus
monitor -r 60 -e linkUpTrap "Generate linkUp" ifOperStatus != 2
monitor -r 60 -e linkDownTrap "Generate linkDown" ifOperStatus == 2
defaultMonitors yes
