As Mark suggests, the question here is whether the master agent is: a) running, and b) listening for AgentX requests You've confirmed that it's up. But is it listening? What does your snmpd.conf file look like? Does it have the line "master agentx" (or similar)? Try ls /var/agentx what does that show?
