net-snmp version? configure options (net-snmp-config --configure-options)? Agent
configuration (snmpd.conf)?

What *is* the expected agentx socket on your system (/var/agentx/master,
hopefully) and what are the permissions of it and its parent directory?

Also, run with "-Dread_config" to see what config tokens are read.
