Net-SNMP Agent is not respondig to my manager in the network.

can anyone help me to this problem.

i am having two machines. say machine A -SNMP MANAGER running on it

Machine B NET-snmp agent is running(i am using the fedora core 4 )
i am running agent with command snmpd with my configuration file.
when i am testing the agent with the following command it is showing following error.
#snmpget -v1 -Cf -c public localhost system.sysUpTime system.sysContact.0
Timeout : No Response from localhost.

how to solve the problem .my agent is also not responding to the manager in the network .when a manager is try to get oid its is giving request timed out error. how to make my net-snmp agent to respond to my manager in the network.
