Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Hi everyone, I am using Net-snmp on Fedora core 4. I could not enable the it to send trap whenever the ethernet link up/down. - Net-SNMP version: 5.3.0.1, configure with disman module - Part of my snmpd.conf looks like: ################################################## ############################# #DisMan EventMIB # Set up the credentials to retrieve monitored values agentSecName internal rouser internal # Active the standard monitoring entries defaultMonitors yes linkUpDownNotifications yes - When I run snmpd, I only got 17:54:51 ------ IP: 192.168.1.100 Uptime: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance 0:0:00:00.19 Trap OID: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteTriggerFired Not Matched: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteHotTrigger.0 process table Not Matched: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteHotTargetName.0 Not Matched: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteHotContextName.0 Not Matched: UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrMessage.1 No mountd process running. Line 1 is: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteHotOID.0 ==> UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrorFlag.1 Line 2 is: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteHotValue.0 ==> 1 Line 3 is: UCD-SNMP-MIB::prNames.1 ==> mountd New Trap ID: 50 17:54:53 ------ IP: 192.168.1.100 Uptime: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance 0:0:00:00.21 Trap OID: SNMPv2-MIB::coldStart Line 1 is: SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapEnterprise.0 ==> NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpAgentOIDs.10 New Trap ID: 51 Also, when i do snmpwalk -v 1 -c TEST localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1 ,it returns IF-MIB::ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.1 = INTEGER: 0 IF-MIB::ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.2 = INTEGER: 0 IF-MIB::ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.3 = INTEGER: 0 IF-MIB::ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.4 = INTEGER: 0 That means it hasn't enabled the LinkUpDownTrap, right? Can anyone give me some advice? What does the agentSecName internal & rouser internal means in this case? Thanks for your help.
