Main development branch.

I've just refreshed everything to be bang up-to-date,
and tried again - with exactly the same results.
Using the 'instance.c' file as it currently stands,
a GetNext on a deliberately-failing scalar object
returns 'noSuchObject'. With the patch I mentioned
yesterday, it skips over this and returns the next
valid value.

Note that I'm not using Sridhar's example code file.
I took an existing scalar object (which I knew to
work), and forced it to return a noSuchObject exception.
That felt a lot easier than trying to merge Sridhar's
ifNumber implementation into the existing code.
