what should I know to write test applications of snmp agent

Hi all,

I am new to snmp. I read some documents and RFC related to snmp.

My current requirement is to write test applications of snmp agent( eg for
bandwidth measuring) in C language.(c, linux).

what all the basic things I should know?

How to start about it?
