Default Re: Looking for the patch for fetch_var_val()

Hello Dave,

Okay, I understand RMON code is unsupported by Net-SNMP. But I still have
to make it work because my customers request RMON support in our SNMP
agent.

My questions then are the following:
Is there a Net-SNMP function to get netsnmp_subtree variable and its
value?
If not, please tell me which field in netsnmp_subtree structure
represents the variable and what is the method to get its value?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Emi

The Rmon code is basically completely unsupported (and my personal
opinion is that we should stop shipping it altogether).

The alarm functionality from this group has been superceded by the
DisMan Event MIB support. This provides the same general ideas, but
in a more flexible form. I'd suggest that you look at upgrading to
the latest version (5.3.1 or one of the 5.4.preN bundles), and
investigate the "monitor" directive.

Dave
