However the problem is something fairly fundamental.
If I tweak the test script to drop the 'hello.pl' script altogether,
so the snmpd.conf file just contains:

perlInitFile /tmp/snmp-test-37-xxxx/snmp_perl.pl
perl print STDERR "registered_perl_agent_ok";

then the perl_parse() call *still* fails. Hmmmm.....
