------=_NextPart_000_0003_01C5FDF1.6BD6EBC0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I am looking at net-SNMP for use in a satellite ground system. A = question that will be raised by the customer is "Why Net-SNMP?" as well = as "then justify it usage". Any help that you can provide will be = greatly appreciated. I'll try to give you a flavour of how I need to justify its selection by = asking some specific questions. How long has the Net-SNMP "product" been around? How long has th ev3 version of it been around? How stable is the current software? (i.e. how much change is it = undergoing in terms of LOC per annum and as a %?) Likewise how many problems/errors are being reported and dealt with each = year? What is your best guess at how many organisations use the product? (Or = do you know fairly precisely?) Is it being used in secure environments at all? Is it being used in safety or mission critical applications? Hopefully, you can understand from these questions the sort of = information that I need and you will be able to me by some means or = another, directly or otherwise. =20 Thank you in anticipation Best regards, Iain le Duc. ------=_NextPart_000_0003_01C5FDF1.6BD6EBC0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2900.2180" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I am looking at net-SNMP for use in a = satellite=20 ground system.
