Are those patches specific to the Debian package building process or are
there any additional patches of general applicability? We'd expect them
to appear in our patch tracker, then.

Does a generic "./configure ... && make && make test" with 5.2.2.pre3
work out of the box for you?

This isn't specific to net-snmp and is documented in the autoconf manual
(where it belongs).
