string

I think someone is in mid 'string'-binning. I am not sure whether it is
still in progress, or whether it is a anoncvs delay for mere mortals, but
there are still a few 'string's left.. e.g.

snmp_api.c:6010: error: `string' undeclared (first use in this function)
