The smux code doesn't get much attention, as AgentX is the preferred sub-agent
protocol. I don't think it currently has an advocate or maintainer.

I took a quick peek at it, and it is completely synchronous. This is probably
becuase the code was written before there was any other way of doing things.
What it should do is send the smux request, mark the snmp request as delegated,
and return to the main loop. This allows the agent to process other tasks while
waiting for a response.

As I said, there is not current maintainer or advocate, so if you want any
changes, you'll have to submit patches.
