1) what release of net-snmp are you using?

2) does snmptrapd receive traps if you send them using snmptrap on the same
host (see the tutorial for examples)

3) does netstat -ln verify that snmptrapd is listening on port 162?

4) do you see the packets if you run tcpdump or ethereal on the host?
