Default [Samba] administering permissions via Windows 2003 Server

Hi,

We have a Linux Release 9 FIle Server with which we are having major
problems controlling file permissions. Even though a directory may have=
777
permisions when any attempt to change/add permissions on this directory=

(via computer management by admin in Server 2003) this just results in=

'access denied' message even though we have full ownership.

We also have a WIndows 2000 terminal server and both Windows servers ar=
e
Domain Controllers.

Can you advise as how to find out if the problems are with Linux
Server/Samba or with Windows?

Regards

Andrew Brown=
