[Samba] davenport problems accessing folders on samba servers

hello

I have samba (2.2.7a) servers (redhat 9 / fedora core 3) accessed via
davenport
systems are in french (i18n : LANG="fr_FR") as does samba (charset =
iso8859-1, codepage = 850)

when the name of a directory or a link to a directory contains non ascii
chars, I mean accented chars for example, davenport users see it as a
file and not as a directory, and of course he can't access his files
some users reported the same problem with names containing hashes #

I'd appreciate any help
