Actually, I found the following message, which may
answer my question, if it still holds true -

Since I am using pass through authentication (I tried
joining it to the domain at my company, but was told
it wasn't allowed), I have security=server in the
smb.conf. Is this still the case, i.e. is ntlm v2
authentication *not* supported for pass-through authentication?
