I have smbldap-tools-0.8.8-1 and the smbldap-populate script doesn't produce the same output as what is shown in the guide (which is based on an earlier version of smbldap-tools). The 0.8.8-1 version of smbldap-populate doesn't warn about having to modify smbldap.conf for "sambaDomainName=MEGANET2,dc=abmas,dc=biz" and it doesn't output the following: adding new entry: ou=Idmap,dc=abmas,dc=biz adding new entry: sambaDomainName=MEGANET2,dc=abmas,dc=biz The sambaDomainName entry is added if one modifies smbldap.conf before running smbldap-populate but still no ou=Idmap which has to be done by hand as specified in the guide. The smbldap-tools are indispensible to non-gurus in getting something going but they seem to change a lot from version to version. Maybe the changes are to accommodate how the IDEALX guys set up a PDC+LDAP Samba server. -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba |
