We have an environment where Linux workstations use Windows domain
controllers to authenticate everything, from SMB access from Windows workstations, to graphical logins, and ssh. We've been seeing some intermitten failures with the authentication for SMB access. Here are some samples of the error messages we're getting. [2005/02/15 01:03:24, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket_data(499) write_socket_data: write failure. Error = Connection reset by peer [2005/02/15 22:27:26, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:pdb_getsampwnam(1369) unable to open passdb database. [2005/02/01 11:14:06, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(252) mpae-wxp (172.19.36.86) couldn't find service softwar [2005/02/01 11:33:39, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket_data(499) write_socket_data: write failure. Error = Connection reset by peer I've searched online and found references to these errors but no solutions.
