Owner/group and ermote server

Hello all (whomever you are)

I have a troubling problem with my setup, which consists of one rsyncd
backup server and some linux boxes to back up.

The problem is that the backup server sets all user-rights to the
owner.group nobody.nobody.

I have tried to use -a --numeric-ids to no avail. The stay fixed to
nobody.nobody

Is there something else I should have done, maybe in the server side (chroot
has been yes and no).

The version is 2.6.2, the newest SuSE update gives today.
