Default what "speedup" mean of rsync?

Hi,
after I run rync to copy some large files, I see the following
message,

wrote 201968 bytes read 324097889 bytes 103925.61 bytes/sec
total size is 708481278 speedup is 2.18

I am confused at it: Does that mean 324097889 bytes are read from
remote host and write 201968 bytes to my disk? Then what's "total
size" mean?

And how "speedup" is calculated?
