Default [rrd-users] 'Trapping' Values?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has written a script that compares, say teh current
value in the RRD against the previous, and if it is twice the value, to
create an alert or something similar?

Or does anyone have any recommendations on doing this?

This is for IP accounting stuff to generate an alert should the bandwidth
usage on an IP address spike out of its normal pattern to alert me to it.

Any advice or thoughts grately appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve
