Hi, all,
I started "Project Babel" in 2005-9, it's a package for creating communities with those features: 1, Massive groups. (see http://www.v2ex.com/ ) 2, Rich feature user profile. (see http://www.v2ex.com/u/livid ) 3, Users can set-up multiple blog sites under one account. (see http://www.v2ex.com/nexus ) 4, Comprehensive monitoring. (see http://www.v2ex.com/status.vx ) 5, Update your status via web or gtalk. (see http://www.v2ex.com/ing , yes kinda like Twitter) 6, PHP 5 / MySQL 4.1 powered. 7, UTF-8 everywhere. And some more interesting features. Google code site: http://code.google.com/p/project-babel These days my friends and I are working on its translation, we plan to make it support those languages in UI before September: - zh_cn (This is where we started, I live in mainland, China) - en_us - de_de - fr_fr - es_es - ja_jp - ko_kr - zh_tw - pl_pl - pt_pt My plan is to make each language into a language pack like this: http://project-babel.googlecode.com/...nk/lang/en_us/ http://project-babel.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/lang/ Are there someone willing to help this project on translation? You can check out the latest en_us pack and get it translated, then you can send it to me and I'll merge it into the source control and test. And if you have some good suggestions on collaborated translation, you're more than welcome to tell us. ^_^ Thank you very much. Best Regards, Livid |

What I'm doing is a real open source project and there are people using it: http://labs.v2ex.com/sites.php http://code.google.com/p/project-babel/downloads/list Maybe you can't read Chinese on the sites I mentioned, but you can try Google translate. These days we're going to translate it to other languages, so I come here and seek help from native speakers. > Did I mention people in this group don't like spam? Could you please tell me how could "seeking help" becomes "spamming this group"? Thanks, Livid |

But your "post" was more ad than assistance request. See a couple of other assistance requests here. They're short and to the point. They don't post several paragraphs telling how great their product is. -- ================== Remove the "x" from my email address Jerry Stuckle JDS Computer Training Corp. jstucklex@attglobal.net ================== |
