Default php-nuke??

I was contemplating using php-nuke for a project. On the positive side,
it would make it easier to add new modules, and has many new modules
already installed. I'm not sure if the security part is any good, but
it would probably be better than me building from scratch. The themes
thing is really nice too.

On the negative side, it may be more than i actually need, there are a
whole lot of modules there i will not use. and I was kind of worried
that it may be slow.

Does any one use PHP nuke? What are your experiences?
