Passing variables on the url and Macs

Does anyone know of a problem on Macs (pre OSX) with passing variables on
the URL?

For example with the following url:

http://someplace.org/file.php?ID=id&thingy=thingy

only

http://someplace.org/file.php

actually gets passed.
