Never heard of the product before, but I used Google, a really neat "search
engine" and found the following at http://fabforce.net/dbdesigner4/faq.php

07 - Which version of MySQL are supported?

Version 3 and 4 MySQL servers are supported. Connections to version 4
servers will be established using the version 3 MySQL library because
version 4 is not supported by the native driver, currently. If you are
having troubles connection to version 4 databases use the ODBC driver.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/dbdesigner-fork

Hi !

Thank you for your response. With DBDesigner Fork it's the same problem, I
think it's not compatible with MySQL 5, the authentication protocol needed
by MySQL 5 is too recent ! What kind of software are you using to draw MCD
(Merise method) with MySQL Databases ?

Thanks in advance for your response.

if you're looking for a powerful GUI, personally I'm a huge fan of navicat
@ http://www.navicat.com/ though it's not free...
