Hi All,
I just installed MySQL 5.0.15-win32 on a WinXP-Pro/SP2 workstation with plenty of RAM/HD resources. I elected to install all components. In the process, I don't recall it ever asking me to assign a username, but if it did, I'm confident I'd specify my standard username. I was under the impression that the only ID MySQL cared about was my email address. I started mysql in a Command window. I supplied the -u parameter followed by a space and -- my standard username first, -- my email address the second time, followed by a space and -p In each case, in response to the password prompt I supplied: -- the password I supplied during installation the first time -- the password I supplied during download the second time. Nothing seems to work. Should I just uninstall and then reinstall again paying more attention the next time? Regards, Richard |
