free DB with countries/cities??

Hello,


I'm building an application (well, going to... ;) and am looking for a
-hopefully- free database with countries and cities (linked) that I can
download.

Googlin' has sofar not helped a lot... does anybody here have any
suggestions?

You can get the example database from MySQL site.

Hi, thanks, but do you know if this DB is a bit up-to-date and complete?
I have looked at it in the past, but somehow it seemed to be a bit
outdated? Or is it complete and up-to-date?

Follow the link in the docs. It says it was updated in June 2005
