Hey all,

=20

I need help regarding a problem with the MaxBytes parameter.

=20

We are a small cable broadband company and we use MRTG as a service for our=
subscribers to keep track of their internet usage.

=20

Mrtg has been working fine and all graphs created for each cable modem has =
1024 set as MaxBytes. This is OK since internet speed we sold went only up =
to 1 Mbit.

This way, all mrtg created for new subscribers has this parameter in their =
cfg file ( we name the config files "modem_ip".cfg in order to keep track =
of who is using the service)

=20

Recently we created new service plans with speeds going up to 10 Mbits. Wha=
t happened then is that all "old" graphs are not showing the real usage (si=
nce it is limited to 1 Mbit).

=20

I manually changed the MaxBytes parameter in over 60 .cfg files to adapt to=
the new speeds, but I=B4m having trouble with the new graphs that are crea=
ted because they are being generated with 1 Mbit as MaxBytes.

=20

I wanted to know how can I change this default value so all the Mrtg graphs=
come with the MaxBytes value of 10Mbits.

=20

Is it something in the cfgmaker script that needs to be altered?

=20

Thanks for the help

Frederick Pohl
